Evidencia was founded in 1999 by Jeanne and Olivier Barrault in Cape town, South Africa.

This is a perfect marriage of enthusiasm and organizational skills.

Jeanne worked for many years as a stylist for Elle in Paris and now offers her skills exclusively to Evidencia’s clients in South Africa. Sensible for the photographic eye, the right touch for fabrics and composition enables her to find the perfect reflection of both the clients’ wants and needs.

Coming from an extreme sports background, Olivier has a great passion for surfing, skiing, skydiving and flying helicopters. This enables him to make quick decisions, issue clear instructions and evaluate the risks for extraordinary sets that push the borders, if needs be.

Their personalities, professionalism and their privileged personal skills in relation to their clients and crew have made Evidencia the success that it is today.

After being asked many times by creative directors and artistic directors whether Evidencia was producing TV commercials, we decided in 2009 to open the Evidencia Film division.

As we say in French “l’union fait la force” , Olivier joined forces with Sonja ter Horst – one of the most respected film producers in the country – to run together, the film division of Evidence Africa Production.

Sonja started Producing in 1993 for single director production companies, Produced at TBWA Hunt Lascaris for several years under the now worldwide CEO John Hunt, Publicis and grew rapidly through the ranks at Suburban Films becoming their Executive Producer, Heading up the Cape Town Office and managing their Directors on domestic and international work as well as Head of Service division.  Directors Managed:  Miles Goodall, Jeremy Goodall, Jonathan Taylor, Sheilla Khubeka, Valente Bosch, Mukunda, Ian Mason, Dave Meinert.

Sonja understands the production process from all angles, moreoever being able to produce creatively and technically with the concept and director's requirements in mind to achieve the desired result for the client.
